Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon grass-fed unflavored gelatin powder like Great Lakes
  • 1/2 cup cold water or herbal tea like chamomile
  • 1/2 cup hot water just below boiling, about 175°F/80°C
  • 1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar with "the mother," like Bragg's
  • Optional: Dash of cinnamon or pure vanilla extract

Method

  1. Bloom the Gelatin: In a small bowl or mason jar, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder evenly over 1/2 cup of COLD water (or tea). Whisk gently and let it sit undisturbed for 2-3 minutes. It will become a thick, lumpy paste.
  2. Dissolve Completely: Add 1/2 cup of HOT (not boiling) water to the bloomed gelatin. Whisk vigorously for 45-60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth, with no visible granules or clumps.
  3. Add Flavor: Stir in 1 tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar. For a flavor variation, add an optional dash of cinnamon or vanilla.
  4. Set: Pour the liquid into a small dish, ramekin, or silicone mold. Cover lightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm and fully set like a dense Jell-O.
  5. Serve & Consume: Eat one serving 20-30 minutes before your largest meal, or as a planned snack to curb cravings. For nighttime use, consume 30 minutes before bed.

Notes

  • DO NOT use flavored, sugary gelatin mixes (like Jell-O) as they defeat the purpose.
  • For a bariatric-friendly version, blend the set gel until smooth to create a mousse-like texture.
  • Consistency is key—try to take it at the same time daily for best results.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
